RAMS PODCAST: Design, creativity, lockdown & losing your job + we launched a podcast.

Officially, RAMS (Regional Australian Movers and Shakers), is a show about people who are taking responsibility and making a difference in rural, regional and remote Australia. But really it’s just an excuse for me to talk to people I admire and learn how they do what they do.

Caz Matarazzo who features Ep1 and his son, Raf (the look on Raf’s face!).

On Episode 1 (the pilot) I spoke to Caz Matarazzo. A designer (and amazing creative) who lost his job at the height of Covid, moved to Victoria (Australia) a couple of days before lockdown (he managed to buy a couch for the new place, phew) and launched two businesses in the process.

Have a listen to Caz’s story below. And if you’d like to talk about producing something similar for your business or organisation, let me know.

RAMS, Regional Australian Movers and Shakers, is a show about people who are taking responsibility and making a difference in rural, regional and remote Australia. This is Series 1, Episode 1. Today we're talking to Caz Matarazzo, a designer who lost his job at the height of Covid, moved to Victoria (Australia) a couple of days before lockdown and launched two businesses in the process. On the technical front (if you’re that way inclined) here’s how recorded this episode:

  • Recorded in Anchor on an iPhone XS Max using a Rode Smartlav+ mic at our end

  • Edited & Mastered in GarageBand (it does the job pretty well)

  • Additional vocals recorded on a Shure SM58 mic (very rock and roll) into Bandlab via a Link Analog V01.

  • And if you’re really keen, I wrote the theme music in the Korg iKaossilator app on the aforementioned iPhone XS Max and was going for a vintage noir, detective radio play type of vibe.
