RAMS PODCAST: Talking the triple bottom line with David Mailler, Meralli Solar.

On episode 4 (and the final of Series 1) of Regional Australian Movers and Shakers (RAMS), I chatted with David Mailler, one of the Directors of Meralli Solar. I’ve known David for a long time and I’m an admirer of the work they’re doing to reinvigorate regional communities through access to cheaper renewable energy. The business is built on a foundation of the notion of a triple bottom line: business success, community development and environmental sustainability.

On episode 4 (and the final of series 1) of Regional Aussie Movers and Shakers, host Ed Campbell, learns from David Mailler, one of the Directors alongside Dr Methuen Morgan of Meralli Solar. Based in Uralla NSW, they've been building solar generators in regional areas since 2017 and they're focussed not just on making a profit but building community and environmental sustainability along the way.

It's very difficult to convince people for change and change is very often confronting and frightening … but the reality is that at the end of the day, if you're not prepared to advocate, and not advocating for what you believe in, you're not being honest.

It's not about spin-doctoring.

It's about actually being or having integrity. And I think that's important.
